Ana Peraica, Ph. D. studied philosophy and art history at the University of Zagreb, MFA program of art theory at the Jan Van Eyck Akademie, Maastricht, three year doctorate course in cultural analysis, theory and interpretation and University of Amsterdam and defended her Ph.D. entitled Photography as the Evidence at University of Rijeka.
Raised as the third generation of family of professional photographers (www.atelierperajica.com ) she has started working with "technical images," becoming a curator of photography, film / video and new media. She curated many online and offline events.
She is an editor of the reader "Zena na raskrizju ideologija" (Split, HULU / Governmental Office for the Equality of Rights Split, 2007), Victims Symptom – PTSD and Culture (Institute for Networked Cultures, Amsterdam, 2009) and author of Sub/versions (Revolver Publishing, 2009/in print). Her essays in domains of visual studies and media theory are/were published in magazines as Springerin (www.springerin.at ), Pavilion ( www.pavilionmagazine.org ) and journals Afterimage (http://www.vsw.org/ai/ ) as well as Leonardo.
