About
I’m involved in research, strategy and policy relating to online political communication, citizen engagement and the social appropriation of digital media by ad between civil society, government and parliament: My work is about educating, engaging and enabling; creating active citizens and connected government.
My background is in innovation – both technology and social – and in strategy, policy and research. My focus is the role of digital media in overcoming the democratic deficit and how communities overcome digital disenfranchisement. I hold a PhD from Monash University, Australia, was previously Director of Digital Democracy at the Hansard Society in London, UK and before that Deputy Chair of NZ Government's Digital Strategy Advisory Group.
