About
Cesare Catà was born in Fermo (Italy) in 1981.
In 2008 he received a PhD in History of Renaissance Philosophy from Macerata University (Italy), where he was Junior Research Fellow.
He was visiting scholar at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA), at the University College of Dublin (Ireland) and Gastforscher at the Cusanus-Institut of the Theological University of Trier (Germany). He is developing a post-doc diploma in Renaissance Culture at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes of Paris (France).
His main fields of research concern Renaissance Philosophy (especially Cusanus, Ficino and Bovelles), Aesthetics (Neo- Platonism and Art) and Hermeneutics (with a focus on modern English Literature: Shakespeare, Keats, Jane Austen, W.B. Yeats, Tolkien, Dylan Thomas).
He participated in International Scientific Congresses and taught Philosophy and Literature in several Academic Seminars.
Since 2008, he is Art Drama Director at the City Theater of Porto san Giorgio (Italy).
He is also the author of theater dramas in Italian and vernacular languages, and of fantasy novels.
