About
I write about literary apologies, primarily in British Romanticism, but really wherever they may occur. Literary apologies are a means whereby writers help us translate ideas of natural rights into concrete practice.
I have written about the role of literary apologies and contracts in Jane Austen (linked below) in Milton's Samson Agonistes (currently in submission) and in Wordsworth.
I am interested in the constitution of legal and political subjects in the long 18th century.
I publish under the name "C. Durning Carroll"
