About
Chris has lectured in education and music at the University of Exeter and the University of Auckland. Currently Chris is researching the emergence and development of learning in the arts following his research into the work of Nietzsche and Heidegger. Chris has published work on the "thing" in music education, the role of assessment in music education and a book examining community samba and music in schools.
Chris has contributed articles to: the British Journal of Music Education, Action Criticism and Theory, Access, International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning, E-Learning and Digital Media and the Journal of Distance Learning. He is a regular presenter at the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia (PESA) and the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) and many other international conferences. He is currently editor of He Kupu, an international online journal specializing early childhood education.
