Thesis Title: Aesthetic Ideas in Scriabin's Late Piano Music (2005)
About
I am a music researcher and musician with interests in aesthetics, phenomenology, intermediality (esp. music and dance), electronic music and interactive performance, improvisation, and 19th/20th century Russian music.
Currently I'm editing a book on bodily expression in electronic music, forthcoming this winter. Upcoming publications include an article for the 'Contemporary Music Review'. I'm in the process of applying for funding for a 3-year research project on musical experience, another on the genesis of interpretation, and a third one on improvisation.
Next invited talks: November 21, London (CMPCP/IMR Performance/Research Seminar); December 7, Belfast (SARC) and York (to be announced)
