About
Dr McCardell is both an independent researcher and psychotherapist. In both capacities she is particularly interested in embodiment, extensors, relationality, difference, consciousness, and the making of meaning. She is intrigued by the way having a story enables neurological and psychological healing and in this regard she is particularly inspired by the Russians Leont'ev, Zaporozhets, Luria, Bernstein and Vygotsky. Out of these ideas has arisen an interest in virtual therapeutic environments. Dr McCardell maintains a land in Second Life called "Naga Saphira", named after the last Japanese dragon (rather suitable for a mythical space) and a blog tracking her experiments therein.
