School Hands in Early Roman Egypt

Work without a home.  I still support the ideas I put down here, although perhaps they should be a little 'toned down' to make them more generally acceptable. Again, all comments welcome.  Please also see accompanying pdf illustration.

This paper considers the teaching of Latin handwriting in Early Roman Egypt.

Cicero's books

The accompanying pdf illustration belongs to this paper.

This paper, again old work for me, considers the writer of the Cicero fragment held at the University Library Giessen. Actually I don't now agree with the rather early dating I had thought appropriate for this papyrus. Any comments welcome.

The Point of the Stilus

This is a fairly old paper which failed to find any joy with the journals.  I put it up here for general interest and just for storage really.  I would welcome any comments.

This paper considers the importance of, and the use of the stilus as a writing instrument in the Roman world.
