Thesis Title: Evaluation of Mass Media Health Communication Campaigns
About
Currently I'm working with Ipsos Sub-Saharan Africa as a Senior Research Manager for healthcare related research across the continent. This is mainly operational and market research.
Before that, I started my PhD studies at the Institute of Communication and Health at the University of Lugano, Switzerland. I decided to postpone, in order to join my family in Nairobi.
My master thesis was about the question whether mass media health campaign evaluation data could be used for the enhancement of communication theory.
In the past, I founded a small company that offers video production for knowledge communication & efficient research dissemination.
My future academic interests include looking at Health Systems from a Social Systems perspective. Is it possible to find ways to apply the Luhman school of thought and aspects of complexity science to Health Systems and with that conceptual frame 'engineer' health systems?
Other concepts I hope to work with stem from the research interests described in my profile.
I hope, in the future, to possibly contribute towards finding solutions to 'public goods' and 'moral hazard' problems in healthcare.
Some of the research fields or approaches I believe are promising for such endeavors include complexity science, social psychology, and behavioral economics, among others. Pareto's late sociological work also has some valuable ideas that have remained largely unexplored.
