About

Kerstin completed her PaR (practice-as research) PhD in 2008, entitled 'On hair, fishtails and voices - resisting femininity in contemporary performance practice' and was awarded by Lancaster University. She worked at Anglia Ruskin University till January 2012. In her position as senior lecturer at ARU, co-organised the Research Unit Representation, Identity and Body (RIB), within the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences. She is also a member of the TaPRA (Theatre and Performance Research Association) working group 'Performance and the Body'.

As active performance practitioner Kerstin is a founder member of Factory Floor, a network of women solo performers and writers, as well as a member of MaMSIE (mapping maternal subjectivity, identity and ethics), an international, interdisciplinary network and research project.

Her most recent performance works include: Middles, Ends, Beginnings (2012) - an autobiographical performance; Date, Mate, Fake, Bake - a one-on-one 'dating' performance (2009/10); Mapping Maternity - a 12-hour durational performance (2008/09/10); Bloody Rosa - Part 1 - a 5-hour durational, site-specific solo performance (2008)

She has presented work on international festivals/conferences in Cyprus, USA, Germany, Ireland and Slovakia.
