About

I have completed a Bachelor in Psychology – Clinical and Community Psychology, and also a Post Graduated Specialisation Course in Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy. I have had extensive professional experience working in the area of mental health and case management as well as in international research projects.

I have worked as a trainee with the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) in Lisbon for a year. My role within the EMCDDA involved implementing the knowledge about psychiatric co-morbidity both in prison/clinical settings and in the general population.

Before my move to Lisbon I have worked on the Recreational Drugs European Network (ReDNet) Project in the UK as a Visiting Research Assistant for more than a year. The work within this role was varied, however my primary goals were to assist in the production of scientific papers, to investigate new drugs, maintain and update the Facebook page and create and maintain the bimonthly newsletter. I am still editing the newsletter issues and coordinating activities among the eight participant countries.

I have five years professional experience as a psychologist and psychotherapist in the clinical field, during which time I have worked with adults and teenagers in Italy and abroad. This experience has allowed me to develop extensive knowledge in assessing and treating individuals with mental health diseases as well as in developing and delivering training for students/trainees and health professionals in several fields. Since 2010 I am member of La Mia Psicologia (LMP) a network of psychologists and psychotherapists working in Italy and abroad.
