Independent Researcher

Thesis Title: Nymphaeaceae: Micromorphological Investigations

Maria Rosaria Barone Lumaga

About

I obtained a Master's degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Naples "Federico II" with full marks.

I worked on the evolution of floral epidermal micromorphology and pollen ultrastructure in the Nymphaeaceae, and on the systematic utility of cuticle characters in cycads.

My main insterest is plant macroevolution from a morphological perspective, with particular focus on Angiosperms. I'm also interested in paleobotany, evolutionary developmental biology and phylogenetic tools in macroevolutionary research.

I'm currently looking for a PhD position in plant evolutionary morphology, paleobotany, phylogeny or a related field.
