About
I'm a horror writer and independent scholar with a particular focus on and fascination with the interplay between fantasy/horror/SF and religion, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, apocalypticism, and the paranormal. My books DIVINATIONS OF THE DEEP (2002) and DARK AWAKENINGS (2010) use the vehicle of weird supernatural horror fiction to explore dark religious and philosophical intimations, and vice versa. The latter book also features three of my academic essays about these matters.
I have an M.A. in religious studies (Missouri State University, 2003) and a B.A. in communication (University of Missouri-Columbia, 1992), and currently work as a Senior Lab Instructor in the Writing Center at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.
