About
For the last 15 years, I have been publishing mudcat.org, a knowledge database and thriving global online community of music professionals, historians and enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of Traditional Music.
I was infected with the Folk Virus at the age of 10 by a single item tucked into my father's record collection, The Folk Box. My mother became very aware of the infection when while other youth were asking for Thriller for Christmas in the winter of 1982, I was asking her to track down a copy of Negro Prison Camp Worksongs. Little is known between 1982 and 1996 when I began publishing mudcat.org. The rest is well documented.
I am actively a Philosopher (NothingToShowForIt.com), Musician (kazoorepair.com & other99.com), Ethnomusicologist (mudcat.org), Strategist (agsci.psu.edu) and Public Radio Host (wpsu.org/folk & wpsu.org/blues). I also score and produce soundtracks for short and full length feature films.
