Independent Researcher

About

I completed my PhD in English Literature at The University of Birmingham, England, in July 2011. Previously I had studied for a BA (Hons) and MRes in English Literature at Bath Spa University. I am an independent researcher, and have taught at the universities of Bath and Birmimgham; as of April 2010 I have been employed as an Educational Support Worker for UK HE learners. Since 2007 I have been on the Editorial Board of The Birmingham Journal of Literature and Language (BJLL), and in 2011 I became Assistant Editor of The Literary Encyclopedia. My research focuses on the editing and bibliographical studies of early modern printed books and manuscripts, especially plays, as well as the theatres of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century London.  Currently I am co-investigating and cataloguing, with Joshua McEvilla, advertisements for books in English periodicals from 1643 to 1668, as well as revising my PhD, a critical edition of William Haughton's Englishmen for My Money, for Digital Renaissance Editions. I am also writing two articles related to book history: one on the will and probate record of William White, printer, and another on the side activities of seventeenth-century booksellers in London.
