About
My research examines the transitions university students undergo when moving between academia and a summer internship workplace. Adopting Holland et al's (1998) concept of reading 'figured worlds' and King Beach's (1999) concept of 'consequential transition', I am interested in the ways students learn to navigate new learning environments.
I have worked as a university administrator for over ten years, most recently in career guidance at Stanford University and the University of Oxford.
I'm currently researching, writing, and consulting on higher education issues. I am a staff writer for Universum Quarterly, and a Research Associate with the Centre for Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance, and the Oxford Centre for Sociocultural and Activity Theory Research, both at the University of Oxford.
