About
I am an independent researcher in cultural studies with interests in socio-cultural aspects of sport; nationalism, national identity, and globalization; nostalgia and cultural memory; and celebrity studies.
I hold a Ph.D. from the University of East Anglia, where I wrote the thesis, "The Cultural Psychology of Football in England and Scotland: History, Economics, National Identity and Nostalgia” (2010).
As a graduate student at UEA, I was an Associate Tutor on a variety of modules in Film and Television Studies, and English. More recently, I have tutored on modules in Sport Studies, English, and Film, as a PT Lecturer at the University of Southampton.
I am currently working on an article about John Terry and the significance of the England football team captaincy, and a project on celebrity power couples with Dr Shelley Cobb (Southampton).
