About
I am an award-winning interdisciplinary educator (US Department of State Fulbright Scholar and Beta Gamma Sigma Honoree), a peer-recognized expert and leader in the field of teaching and learning (Governor's Teaching Fellow and HETL Founder), and a peer-honored community service leader (Honorary Rotarian) and business leader (MCI Inner Circle Award and MCI Circle of Excellence Award). During my 12 year career (2000-present) as an educator, leader, and consultant in higher education, I have taught over 150 courses in the subject areas of management, strategy, finance, economics, marketing, and e-commerce and I have created and managed several innovative programs at the college and university levels. During my 12 year career (1992-2004) as a senior analyst and project leader in the telecommunications and high-tech industry, I helped to deregulate the US telecommunications industry (US Telecom Act of 1996) and I led several projects that helped build the Internet infrastructure such as ‘Voice over Internet (VoIP)’, ‘Universal Service Fund’ (USF), and ‘Enhanced Emergency Service (E911). I am the founder of the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning (HETL) Association (2010-present) which is an international association of educators aimed at advancing the scholarship and practice of teaching and learning in higher education..
