About

My field of research is directed to show how fiction is conceived in Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics relating the model of understanding with the model of the game. As a result raises the possibility of a fictional hermeneutics recovering the problematic status of philosophical fiction.
The first part presents an interpretation of Gadamer's thought from a perspective that shows the importance of issues such as truth guaranteed by method, the problem of today’s practical philosophy, the disconnection between rhetoric and ethics, the need of questioning positive rationality and the human relationship with technology, linking it directly with the problem of fiction and play.
The second part is devoted to show the game as a foundational hermeneutical experience. Game is used as a model in which consciousness seeks a sense (ignoring concepts such as truth or reason) which provides a space for otherness and participation. Therefore, it distinguishes between different modes, areas and forms of the game. This distinction facilitates to understand when the game becomes a conscious action, regulated and subject to its purposes, and therefore human, when, because of its particular areas (seriousness, freedom, symbolic and divinity) man must choose, discuss, distinguish and unite, and according to their forms (fiction, mimicry and transformation) the game is mixed with reality. Defining the concept of "fiction" referred to art, language, history and truth, will provide elements that will help to understand the structure of comprehension.
The third part focuses on showing the fictional treatment of truth made by Gadamer. It leads to a world conception based on comfort. To show this, a distinction about the types of fiction using analytical tradition relates well with the narrativist thesis of White, Ricoeur, or Cruz is necessary. As a result, the treatment of fiction is related to its productivity evident as sense making focused on reaching a world habitability (comfortable to man to inhabit it).
This research provides to current narrativist theories a perspective focus on the author selfbuilding and the ways in which it occurs as a result of sense making. It will help to clarify the fictions hidden behind the discourses of different social actors that must be understood and interpreted.
