Thesis: “The so-called «Dominus Apartments» of roman Villa del Casale di Piazza Armerina: Structure, Function and Decoration”. Concentration on late roman domestic architecture. These research seeks to restore a contextual dimension that take into account the whole set of combined elements: location, architecture, accessibility, relation to adjoining spaces, and decorations (mosaics and wall paintings with a special focus on their chronology, patterns, organization, hierarchy, iconography)
Archaeological fieldwork experience (University): Villa del Casale at Piazza Armerina (Enna, Sicily; 26 weeks); Palatine Hill (Rome; 8 weeks) excavation of so-called temple of Iuppiter Victor/Invictus on the Clivus Palatinus; Palatine Hill, “Vigna Barberini” (5 weeks) excavation of so-called “Coenatio Rotunda”; Hadrian’s Villa (Tivoli; 5 weeks); Segesta (TP, Sicily: hellenistic Necropolis, 12 weeks).
