About

My overall project in philosophy is to try to understand, deconstruct, and critique those ideas which affect the well-being of sentient life, and to relate them in such a way that they will hopefully have some sort of positive impact on said sentient life.

Although I try to avoid systems, my work generally tends to follow an overarching schema starting from the ontology of (non-)identity, going through a non-hierachical axiology/aesthetic, continuing with a non-hedonistic utilitarian ethic, and ending up in an anarchist (libertarian socialist) social/political philosophy. I have yet to work out a satisfactory epistemology, but it will likely be some form of constructivist empiricism (with an emphasis on skeptical inquiry). I'm also interested in the philosophy of religion (esp. Zen Buddhism, Taosim, and Christian existentialism), feminist philosophy, philosophy of mind, philosophy of humor, existentialism, the study of wisdom, and education theory.

My main interests in applying these topics to general societal well-being are a radical revision of the educational system, global environmental sustainability, animal rights, and the philosophy of information and technology.
