About

My doctoral research focused on the the history, archaeology and memory of the Western Front (1914-1918). This work examined how soldiers experienced the materiality and spatiality of the battlefields. This study was complemented by an investigation into the manner in which the memory of the Western Front has been used within contemporary societies.
My main research area is now largely within modern history, anthropology, memory, museums, material culture and landscape studies.
