Sandra Shevey is a film historian who has been profiling Hollywood since 1968. In 1970 her seminal women in film paper, `Down With Myth America`, was published in The New York Times.
Sandra`s interviews with Hollywood megastars about identity (gender and ethnicity) have appeared in magazines and newspapers all around the world. She has interviewed among others Alfred Hitchcock, John Lennon, Jack Lemmon, Jon Voight, Shirley MacLaine, Joan Blondell, Jane Russell, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and others.
Sandra has also authored biographies about Marilyn Monroe (`The Marilyn Scandal`) and John Lennon (`The Other Side of Lennon`)
She runs London walks around Alfred Hitchcock locations and the London street markets.
Sandra also lectures at the Barbican Cinema, the St. Martin`s reference library and the National Portrait Gallery. Her exhibition`Outing Hollywood` (about Hollywood and identity) ran in July 2009 at the St. Martin`s reference library. In March 2010 she was mount an exhibition `Alfred Hitchcock Unmasked` about the director`s reinterpretations of locations (London and New York)
Sandra is keen to bring these exhibitions/talks elsewhere and is looking for commissions in the UK and abroad.
