`The Marilyn Scandal`

Reissue of Sandra`s 1987 authorised Marilyn Monroe biography

Sandra Shevey has reissued her bestselling Marilyn Monroe biography.  First published by Sidgwick and Jackson in 1987 the book sustained the Sidgwick imprint as well as the 7-year Arrow paperback licence.

This is probably the only book which was authorised by Marilyn`s friends in an effort to reverse the melodramatic portait of the star (prior to 1987)

Sandra`s `pitch` has been taken up by other authors, one of whose `copies` was produced by Sandra`s then publisher.

When Sandra mentioned to Arrow paperbacks that she`d like to keep the book in print but wanted a deal more fair than 90% publisher/10% author, the publishing house refused the offer.

Sandra, now age 66, used pension monies to produce the revised edition.

The revision has a new cover (Rorschah impression/no Marilyn Monroe photos); an updated introduction (with information about Arthur Miller and Sir Laurence Olivier) and an appendix of letters from those interviewed (all with Sandra`s notations, observations, queries at the time of the interviews)

Sandra is unable to get distribution for the book or rather she is unable to get distribution at anything but obscene discounted rates.

It is thus obtainable at sandra_shevey@yahoo.com

`The Other Side of Lennon`

Sandra Shevey`s famous 1972 interview with John Lennon

Why in the world the BBC, films, networks are using thirdhand trash by writers who never interviewed Lennon or knew the Beatles beats me.

Just more of the same.  Fill up the world with crap.

If you want to learn what John was really like, read this book.  It is out of print but can be supplied at sandra_shevey@yahoo.com

Sandra is also keen to talk about that meeting with John and all the `bits` which were `not` included in the book.  She is available for lectures, conference, talks, seminars and is keen to play `soundbites` from that landmark 4.5-hour interview.
