Thesis Title: The writings of a noble savage: Paul Gauguin in light of primitivism, exoticism and oriental studies

About

Completed Art History studies on time (2003-2008) and graduated with a theses: ''The writings of the noble savage: Paul Gauguin in light of primitivism, exoticism and oriental studies'' (Art History, Anthropology and Cultural study, Postmodern and Postcolonial theory). Interested in Middle ages (Europe), Modern and contemporary art, reception and context(s) of Non-European art(s), Museology/museum studies and heritology, as well as African art and culture.

Experience in the Museum of African Art in Belgrade consists of holding lectures and guided tours (through the Museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions), preparing seminars, professional and art events, organising educational, applied and music workshops, contributing to the Museum’s photo, film and music library, preparing video, audio and computer based informative programmes for visitors, preparing the Museum’s presentation on the internet (website and social sites), television, radio and online promotion. Apart from being curatorial assistant and museum animator, work also includes programme coordination and fundraising.

As part of my work in the Museum of African Art, I was exploring the work of South African multimedia artist WIlliam Kentridge: lectures (Student's cultural centre February 2011., Petnica science centre July 2011.), short animated film cycle (Yugoslav Film Archive-Kinoteka, Vlada Petrić hall, April 2011.) and a review of his works on The 51st October Salon in Belgrade (for the magazine "Afrika: studies in culture and art").

From 2010. interested in Ecocritic theory (human-animal studies), especially in film (sci-fi and fantasy). In May 2011. I held a presentation, lecture and discussion on Hayao Miyazaki's animated movies, from a ecocritic perspective, as well as a lecture on Miyazaki's comics as part of the Comic book venue at October book fair in Belgrade 2011.

Interested in various genres of music (glam rock, punk, new wave, post punk, world music) as an amateur DJ, fan and scholar.
