About
I translate Aramaic professionally for Aramaic Designs, where I manage a private digital library and data management system. I also teach Aramaic language distance learning courses online in several dialects.
Things currently on my plate include (in no particular order):
- Working on the Drashia D-Iahia (Mandaic Book of John) translation project with James McGrath and Charles Häberl.
- Managing the Biblioblog Research Library. ( http://rogueleaf.com/biblioblog-library/ )
- Translating "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" by Beatrix Potter into Galilean Aramaic.
- Working on the DARIUS Project to bring Aramaic language learning up to date with modern techniques and offer online courses.
- Redesigning the user interface and data displays for the Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon.
- Translating the dialogue for Darius I into Imperial Aramaic for an upcoming video game. (Done! The game in question was Sid Meier's Civilization V - 9 million copies sold!)
- On-and-off working on my book about the modern myths about the Aramaic language and an article investigating traces of an Aramaic layer in the dialogue between Jesus and the "Jews" in the latter part of John 8.
