Steve Werlin recently completed his doctoral work in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied the archaeology of Roman and Byzantine Palestine and ancient Judaism.  His research focused on Ancient Synagogue Art and Architecture, Archaeology and History of Second Temple and Late Antique Palestine, and Religious Practices and Architecture in the Classical and Near Eastern world.  Steve has excavated in Cyprus, Israel, and Jordan.
