Freelance work for the Norfolk Geodiversity Partnership and the Association of Local Government Ecologists. Field work
In 1994 I carried out rescue excavation of Ipswichian vertebrates at Shropham gravel pit, Norfolk. The results are not yet published, pending work by a colleague on the stratigraphic context. It is the richest site for Ipswichian palaeoenvironmental evidence yet found in the UK.
In 1997 I excavated mammal bones and wooden structure from a peat/alluvial context in the Dove valley, Suffolk. C14 dating has recently dated the wood to 420 to 580AD. I am looking for researchers interested in excavating this freshly preserved post-Roman / early Saxon site before oxidation of the peat destroys the waterlogged wood.
