Yannis Stoyas (Γιάννης Στόγιας) in brief:
Born at Ioannina; BA in Archaeology, University of Ioannina.
I have worked for many years in the Archaeological Service of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture; for a major period I was employed in the Numismatic Museum, Athens (1996-2007).
My current appointment with the Welfare Foundation for Social and Cultural Affairs (KIKPE), Athens, involves my contribution in the publication of the Foundation's coin collection (Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum, Greece 7. The KIKPE Collection of Bronze Coins, Vol. I, forthcoming), as well as participation in the development of periodical exhibitions.
Furthermore, during the last eight years and currently I teach in the Historical Sciences Seminar, which takes place at the National Hellenic Research Foundation.
Current topics: Coinage & History; Ancient Greek Numismatics.
Past topic: Byzantine Numismatics.
Specialization: Numismatics. Main research interests: Ancient History, Byzantine and Medieval History, Economic History.
