ABSTRACT The author publishes a 17th century inscription that arose in the context of an archaeological excavation in the reconversion of three buildings near the Ribeirinha Zone, in the Historical Center of the city of Lisbon. We present reading and interpretation and we seek to contextualize the nearby building with a religious framework of admiration and worship of the Immaculate Conception.

ABSTRACT The authors publish and interpret the contextual data and stratified artifacts of a suburban construction of the Roman town of Olisipo (Lisboa). The site was situated on the right bank of «Esteiro da Baixa», a water course of downtown Lisbon. Therefore, the significance of the roman constructions is discussed referring to the water course´s importance and significance towards local Roman urbanistic of the area. A reflection on late 3d to 4th centuries A.D. abandonment of the suburban settlement is also performed, referring to the transformations performed in the town in this transitional period.

Abstract
Archaeological excavations in Rua do Arsenal, in the Tagus River water front and close to Largo do Corpo
Santo uncovered several contexts from Early Modern Age and possible to date from the 16th to 18th century.
Some of those contexts were related to the Casas Nobres do Infantado, presumably the home of Prince Pedro,
future king Pedro II. Among those contexts there is a little cesspit [543], located in compartment 4. Inside this
hole there were many material culture elements, mainly pottery, with a high conservation level. This paper
aims to discuss the formation of that deposit as well as the use of those objects.
Keywords: Coarsewares, Tin glazed wares, 17th century, Domestic consumption.

Abstract
The present work focuses on the archaeological findings identified in a post-Pombaline building located between
Largo do Corpo Santo and Praça do Comércio, on the riverside front of the historical center of Lisbon.
Attested by the bibliography, the Noble Houses were framed between Rua da Corte Real and Calçada do Corpo
Santo, dating back to the 16th century. The Calçada do Corpo Santo was identified in the West sector, where it
was also recognized a wall of clash of the tides and foundation of the Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Graça associated
with the Irmandade dos Mareantes in the 15th century. One of the most outstanding finds, the Fernandina
Wall, built in 1373/75, was identified a well preserved section with overlapping with João Bretão Tower of an
odd configuration.
Keywords: D. Fernando Walls, Tower, Houses of the Infant.
